THE YOGRITU DIFFERENCE

As I attended various yoga programs and workshops , I made my own combinations of asanas, chakras, mudras, picking the best from all of them, and I realized that yoga has to be clinical or ā€˜chikitsikā€™. Everyone cannot be doing the same asanas , because every individual is unique and so are their problems. So I customized my classes according to my studentā€™s particular ailment. For instance, it could be a solution for an external pain like knee, shoulder or back issues. Or internal discomfort ,like digestion migraine, or PCOD. Some issues take just a week or a fortnight to get better, while others might take longer. So at my classes, we work on it on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. So, what you will get in a Yogritu class is a bespoke yoga schedule in a group environment.

EUREKA!

The United Nations agency-UNICEF, Indian Express and YOGRITU have come together to collaborate on fun, online classes for children, ( The Indian Express EUREKA series) which will give them a holistic yet delightful way to imbibe yoga in their lives.

STRETCH YOUR MUSCLES

The first of the series is muscle intense yoga sessions which focus on the inner core and strengthening the muscle tone of the active little ones.

ITā€™S IN OUR NATURE

The second in the series use asanas inspired by nature that will make the young students, agile, flexible and strong but also help them appreciate the environment, that they live in, and from which they are learning from.

ANIMAL FUN

The third set of yoga classes are based on poses copied from animals that will make the asanas a delight and help the young ones understand that Yoga is an excellent harmony of body, and mind and soul.

THE YOGRITU CLASS

The YOGRITU classes take you from your Prana, to Mudras, to Asanas to a final Chakra awakening. In over an hour, YOGRITU breathes a new life into your physical, mental and spiritual consciousness.

STEP 1: CONTACT

I like to form a connect with each of my students. I meet the person and discuss each and every aspect of their mental and physical health, take their medical history parameters-hereditary issues, digestion, and lifestyle patterns to try to understand their specific ailments be it digestive and respiratory patterns, or hormonal cycles and then work out a tailor-made plan for them.

STEP 2: CONNECT

All the participants in the class starts by chanting ā€˜omā€™, which puts oneā€™s self at one with the cosmos, as it relaxes your body mind, and soul.
This is followed by pranayama -The Yogic breathing technique which allows one to: slow down; take ā€˜time outā€™, to change conditioned reaction patterns; establish full awareness of oneā€™s own mental state, and work on oneā€™s breath as a bridge between oneā€™s mind and body. Through pranayama, the connect with the mind is so strong, that my students see positive changes not only while doing yoga, but a better connect with themselves in all spheres of their life!

STEP 3: CORE STRENGTH

While most other forms of exercise focus on the external forms of activation, how to cure your knee or back pain, yoga works on your inner core focusing on stimulating the respiratory, digestive, circulatory system. The minute , your bodyā€™s core-, stomach, kidney, liver and pancreas are activated, a lot of lifestyle diseases disappear in a trice. Not only does a strong core help you maintain good posture and support your overall health and vitality, there is power in moving from your internal core so, when students say we are feeling energized, that energy is from within.

STEP 4: CUSTOMISE

Next up are our customised Asanas, which are specially formulated to solve your needs as each problem both physical and mental , is as varied as the students who attend my class. And the asana schedule is changed or fine-tuned, every single day, depending on the studentā€™s needs. Plus a weekly review helps in strengthening, curing, and discovering the bodyā€™s strength, flexibility and inner core energy.

STEP 5 CLARITY

We finish the yoga class with some form of meditation which also includes chakras awakening. Our wellbeing on all levels is affected by our chakras (energy centers). Sometimes our chakras also become blocked in our system, impeding our energy flow and energy levels. The chakras work at the subconscious level and by working on your subconscious gradually, weā€™ll awaken these chakras and this will filter into all aspects of your life, and youā€™ll feel energized and renewed from within.

It is an ancient form of yoga practiced by Hatha yogis, the founders of Hatha Yoga who discovered this novel way to experience the unity with the universe and your consciousness. They found that certain body postures and movements open up our energy channels, along with our psychic centres.

They did not see Hatha Yoga as a form of exercise. Throughout the yoga session my focus is onĀ  posture and detailingĀ  , so that every student knows how to do the pose in a perfect way. I strongly believe that anyone who sees you doing yoga should be in for a visual treat, and you should be completely aware, mentally present in the moment, and in control of each and every cell within you. There has to be a synchronicity in the way you pose, the stretch of the pose and how long you hold your pose. By controlling our mind and our breath, the true objective of yoga is achieved. Ā Ā  In every class, every nerve and muscle from your scalp to toe is worked upon. Since the core is strengthened, the physical body also responds and we are able to perform the most difficult asanas.When we approach our yoga class in this manner, then ourĀ  whole being gets involved and every aspect of our identity, personality, and consciousness is exercised too. There is complete ease and harmony in oneā€™s mind and body.

Hi Everyone, I am Niralee Shah and I joined Yogritus online classes 2 months back. I m a very careful and selective eater as I have a tendency to put on weight at wrong places. We are based in New York USA and our busy schedules did not permit us to engage in any kind of exercise which made us gain weight with some health issues.
During the lockdown since we had to work from home so our search for an efficient yoga instructor began and we thank our luck that we found Ritu at Yogritu who came as a blessing in our lives.
Me Babita Sethi and My husband Neeraj Sethi started online classes 2 months back for 5 days a week, 1 hour per day.
Ritu has a unique way of doing her sessions. She individually inquires about our problems, if any, and advises asanas to us in the class accordingly. Pranayam which is the need of the hour is done for more than 30 mins to increase our immunity which is extremely helpful.

I am Ankita, currently based out of Delhi..being an army officers wife we travel a lot..few years back I had taken certain medications that claimed to be homeopathic, however within a months time I gained a lot of weight. To shed the weight I started gyming, I cannot deny that I did not loose weight. But every time we would travel and I would skip the work out I would gain faster.. I needed to look for a better solution, when my mother told me about ‘YOGRITU”. December 2009, one fine morning I ,Sunita Patro aged 54 years bent to open a drawer in the kitchen, a normal regular activity, and I felt a sudden mild click kind of feeling in my lower back. Next few days were spent in pain in and stiffness, considering it tobe sprain. But it did not subside. Later , a visit to a doctor and an MRI confirmed Disc Prolapse at L3 L4, in simple terms disc slip. It took a strict regimen of rest, medication and physiotherapy to come out of it in 4 months. But it did not go away completely. Life was never the same as pre December 2009. Inspite of taking all the precautions of not lifting weights, squating, not bending forward, this pain and muscle spasm would keep recurring atleast 2-3times in a year. The only way out was physiotherapy followed by low back exercises which for some reason or the other I would forgo.
Life kept moving like this till 2019,August when I met Ritu Malhotra, Founder , Yogritu. After a thorough discussion I joined Yogritu.
To begin with Ritu welcomed me with a huge warm heart. And the asans and pranayams were tailor made for me. Each day, with gentle,tender baby steps I started moving in my new journey of Yoga. Each day being a new learning and a challenge due to my additional issue of chronic migraine. Itā€™s now almost a year that I am with Yogritu and certain changes are phenomenal.
With the customised asans and pranayams on a daily basis, today I am able to squat on the floor, the trauma of muscle spasm and pain in my back reduced by almost 80% , and as an when it has happened it has been taken care of by Yoga. Infact, the extra physical work load in Covid times in the absence of maids has been managed perhaps due to the asans. My migraine attacks have reduced in frequency and intensity for which I sometimes have to take medicines, but far lesser than before.
I am striving towards complete cure, which I am sure will happen. One day I am determined to do Surya namaskar.

THYROID REDUCED from 4.69 in 2.8.2019 to 3.94 in July 2020
WEIGHT REDUCED from 66 kg to 60 kg in 1 year ( although not doing not of weight loss asans as of now)

I have been doing yoga wth ritu mam (YOGRITU)since 6mnths.( ONLINE CLASSES)…itā€™s the first time in my life that I have done yoga …I started doing it when I was 3 mnth pregnant but I must say I enjoyed every bit of it becoz of ritu mam…she is so focused for my PRENATAL YOGA yoga sessions…she always focused on wat differences I m feeling in every trimester and she used guide me according to my pain and body changes…becoz of her constant support and focused yoga sessions I could deliver my baby normally (best part of doing yoga is having normal delivery)also wth normal delivery I didnā€™t gain extra fat on my face and neck becoz ritu mam focused on facial exercises and jaw moments….I really recommend all pregnant girls to do yoga wth ritu mam for there smooth and healthy delivery

I am Manya Puri and I’m 17 years old and I joined yoga five months back.

Within just four to five months, yoga has helped me through every little problem of mine. Whether it is cough or body ache or anxiety or anything for that matter. From a very long time, I’ve had frequent shoulder and back aches, but yoga has helped in every possible way. Now, I’m happy to share that yoga has helped me improve not just my flexibility, but my posture as well. The frequency of my shoulder and back aches have reduced to minimal. I wanted to get back to dancing after having taken a break for several years, however, my lower back pain was a huge barrier. Ritu Ma’am encouraged me to fearlessly move forward, reassuring me everyday that she’s got my back, literally! In two months here I am prancing away in the desert sand with no hesitation of it’s repercussions. With Yogritu, I feel balanced and physically strong. Hello I am Geeta. I live in Ahmedabad I joined ā€œYogrituā€ in April 2020. I had a chronic issue of spondylitis. There was constant pain in my neck and shoulders. I also suffer from cholesterol and am on medication which causes fatigue and stiffness of muscles. Namaskaar to all! I am Sangeeta Bawa and am 50years old. When I joined Yogritu in May 2020, my chronic cervical pain was very severe. Other than that my backache and other pains which have been residing in my body for years were showing up. Due to all this I was disturbed and irritated too. My elder sister who has been with Rituji for almost two years now asked me to join her Yoga classes and then equation started changing for good. The Pranayams she had taught in class are so magical that eachĀ  pranayama gave me mental peace to think clearly and the smile after every session with Di give me energy to get through my daily routine. The challenges of not being able to sit cross legged, weight lossĀ  which I was struggling with for over 2 years plus magically began in just about a year of joining class whereby now via inch loss I feel a lot lighter and my right leg which used to be weak isĀ  now on the road to recovery with Diā€™s planned asanas each day.Ā  As a person Di is very compassionate kind considerate selflessĀ  and a loving person always ready to listen and motivate. HerĀ  magic mantra ā€œYOGA SAI HAUGAā€ is buried in m head and Iā€™mĀ  sure she will excel in curing many selflessly and shall always be showered with blessings unconditionally.
